Hobo Theology is a place for conversation, a place to talk about theology, ministry, and soul.

Here, the questions are just as important as the answers, and the journey as important as the destination.

What is "Hobo" Theology?

The idea of “Hobo” Theology refers specifically to a couple concepts.

Theology En Route. Theology lives and moves. It expands and deepens as we mature and grow in our faith. So Hobo Theology recognizes theology is a journey, a process (sometimes called pilgrim theology or theologia viatorum). We therefore live with questions and hold our theology with humility and wonder. We admit we understand dimly now and yet anticipate understanding better down the road (1 Corinthians 13:12). So we embrace the journey gladly.

People En Route Christians are spiritual hobos (1 Peter 2:11). We do not belong on earth (Hebrews 11:13). We’re just passing through. We see and savor the passing sights, but ultimately, we fix our eyes on a future destination, on a future glory.
